The Citroën DS 19 was a luxury passenger car, which premiered in 1955. It remained in production until 1975.

The Citroën DS 19 was the car often used by Charles de Gaulle, the French president from 1959-1969. The DS 19 was the perfect diplomatic vehicle, offering plenty of space in the passenger compartment and comfortable leather-upholstered seats. As a presidential car, the Citroën DS 19 symbolized both French elegance and technological modernity. Its presence on the roads was an expression of the prestige and strength of the French state.

During the assassination attempt on President de Gaulle, the attackers destroyed two of its tires. Despite this, the driver kept control of the vehicle and managed to escape the attackers. Nobody was injured.
